2013 BMX Worlds Track Designs Released

The 2013 UCI BMX Worlds are being held indoors at the Vector Arena in Auckland, NZ in July. Yesterday the UCI released the official track designs, including plans for a single start ramp set up.

Recently a BMX icon of old was tragically taken from us. Helena Giblett was a champion in her day and is still widely renowned in the BMX community. See inside the statement the UCI themselves have released regarding her passing.
Qantas To Increase Baggage Limit

Although not BMX specific news, this definitely relates to us BMXicans. Pending approval, from March 31 Qantas domestic passengers will be entitled to 30kg of checked luggage, increasing from the current 23kg.
Wanneroo Super Series Date Change

Due to unforseen circumstances the Wanneroo Super Series will now be held on Sunday 24th March 2013. Please make sure you pencil this change of date into your diaries. Nominations will be out shortly.

Southern districts BMX regrets to inform that due to track work there will be no racing on Friday 1st February. However, we will be open for racing on Sunday 3rd with an invitation to all pro riders to come try the new pro section. Nominations and gates from 11.30 racing from 1.30.

There’s been a bit of debate regarding the Pro classes lately and the format that they should run. Should we keep the Pro system as it is, with a single 14+ Pro Open class, or split the classes back to the old A & AA Pro system?
